Architect (University of Buenos Aires); Master in Monuments Restoration (UNAM, México), and Ph.D. in Architecture (UNAM, México). He is currently active in historical archaeology within big cities, and the preservation of architectural heritage in Latin America. With special interest in Mexico, Guatemala and others Latin American countries. National awards from Argentina and several US and European grants and fellowship like Dumbarton Oaks, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the Graham Foundation for the Arts, the DAAD on Germany, The Center for Latin-American Studies of the University of Pittsburgh, Getty Grant Program, Princeton University, the CASVA of the National Gallery of Art at Washington, and others. 35 published books, and over 300 academic papers. In 1984 he was granted tenure at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Buenos Aires until now. Travels extensively throughout Latin America and the United States. Trustee of the National Commission of Historic Monuments; is a Member of the Academy of History of Buenos Aires (actually Academic Secretary) and ICOMOS. Ten years residence at Mexico, teaching at UNAM and UAM universities, a residence at Ecuador, several months at USA, Germany, Guatemala and others countries, in field works or for research purposes.
