Fernanda Bretones Lane
Fernanda Bretones Lane (PhD Vanderbilt University, 2019) is an Assistant Professor of History
at the University of Florida, where she teaches courses on the colonial Caribbean, Afro-Latin
America, and the Atlantic World. Her book manuscript examines Spain’s religious sanctuary
policy in the Caribbean, and previous works have appeared in The Americas: A Quarterly
Review of Latin American History (2018) and in the Journal of Global Slavery (2019).
